I like to wear my District 12 Tribute to the gym, because when I work out I can pretend Glimmer will try to kill me so I better lift heavy things and get strong.

Today, after my workout, I headed to subway. The cashier asked me what District 12 was, and I told her it was from Hunger Games. She said she saw the movie trailer and it looked horrifying and not something she’d want kids to see. Well we can’t have that! I summarized the plot as best I could, and she stared at me like o.O so I don’t think I did a very good job making it seem not-horrifying.

I pleaded with her to check it out on amazon, read the sample pages, read some reviews. I said I talk to a lot of parents that review books as well as librarians and booksellers and assured her the popular consensus is that Hunger Games is amazing. She did say she’ll check it out.

As I was leaving, I heard her in the back room telling someone, “A customer just told me about the weirdest book!”
