How long did it take you to write Wither (so like from writing the first word till finding an agent)?
I already had my agent before I started writing Wither; we’d signed on an adult project that ultimately didn’t sell. Wither was meant to be a short story, but as I got more and more into it, I realized that it was not only going to be a full novel, one book was not going to be enough to tell the whole story. I managed to complete the first draft by late September. I sent it to my agent, and we discussed revisions and ways to make it stronger, and then we had our first offer from a publishing house by the end of October.
